The Namer Of Things returns with a third untitled EP of downtempo, tripped out, psychedelic, dubby slow techno. Opening with the chuggy Italo Disco inspired “Oomahme”, followed by the arp laden “Colly Wobbles” filled with tape distorted fuzz and all the wow and flutter you can cope with. Next up is “Seven Forty” which opens with unidentifiable chatter and grimy bucket brigade delay saturated chords made with fast arpeggios from the esoteric Strega synthesiser (designed by Alessandro Cortini) before the deep Juno drone comes into play. Wrapping up the EP isthe floaty and dubbed out “Lush” with its triplet bass refrain and a single 4bar sample stretched across the entire track using granular synthesis.
Due out on the 27th of May. It’s the sixth release from Triple Geek Recordings, a micro-label releasing armchair techno, downtempo psychedelia and mid tempo electro wonk.
