About purpl

Coming on to the scene in 2020, Bristol based singer-producer purpl has already started to make a name for herself in the alt-pop world. Having already worked with some incredibly talented and successful producers/songwriters, including the likes of Sky Adams (Kylie Minogue, Doja Cat), Lostboy (Tiesto, Chris Brown), and Paul Stanborough (Janet Jackson, Tina Turner), purpl has developed a unique sound that blends alternative pop with subtle R&B tones and vulnerable lyrics.

After what some might consider a rocky period with her previous management in 2021-early 2022, she decided to go it alone and release independently and consistently throughout 2022. Since then, purpl has seen an abundance of opportunities and support including being championed by multiple arms of the BBC including her song ‘why’d you ghost me?’ being played on BBC Radio 1.

After a strong finish to 2022, purpl finally took to the stage and started by headlining BBC Introducing live at 60 Million Postcards, Bournemouth. She’s since played at The Halley X DMY live sessions in London, The Bristol Takeover at The Bristol Beacon, The Louisiana and Camden Club. She was also announced in the first wave of artists for 110 above festival and is particularly proud of being invited on to BBC Radio Solent to perform live versions of tracks from her debut EP ‘Classic Holographic’ for international women’s day.

“Tender pop melodies infused with a rich sense of autobiography, purpl’s literate songwriting is set to a gorgeous sonic palette” - Clash
