Year of the Dog

Smashing the festival, radio, and TV circuits alike, the new brass-house-soul sound from Cardiff and Bristol are selling out gigs and rising fast.

Having built a reputation as one of the most unforgettable dance inducing live bands on the underground scene, Year of the Dog have blasted the main stages at festivals including Noz Stock, Cheltenham Jazz and Cardiff Pride and have been interviewed by BBC Radio stations across the country. The six-piece who formed at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2018 are also recognised for their star appearance as Swing Band in Netflix’s smash hit series, Sex Education, performing their original tune Run These Streets in series 1, ep 3.

2023 will see the Dogs open In It Together festival, headline Bristol’s Thekla, Cardiff’s The Globe, Bath’s Moles and Komedia, London’s Brixton Blues Kitchen, Worcester’s Marr’s Bar and release new music with their new drummer.
