We think the best cookies are the ones you use to catch monsters, we’re less of a fan of the ones that track you across the web.

We don’t place any tracking cookies on your site, and avoid social widgets that do. We use an analytics tool that lets us know the number of visitors we’ve seen, the fraction of people who had Coil enabled etc. but doesn’t tell us, or even track, who those visitors are.

We do place a strictly necessary cookie “__cfduid!” which is used by cdn services like CloudFare to identify individual clients behind a shared IP address and apply security settings on a per-client basis. It does not correspond to any user ID in the web application and does not store any personally identifiable information.

We do place a “session cookie” on your browser - this keeps track of some simple state we need for the behind the scenes stuff to work.

No third parties have access to our cookies.

If you don’t want to allow the use of our session cookie, you can use your browser setting to withdraw your consent and also delete the cookies that have already been set. These settings are usually found in the ‘options’ or ‘preferences’ menu in your internet browser. Note that by disabling certain categories of cookies, you may be prevented from accessing some features of our website or certain content or functionality may not be available.
